Receptionist

The Orchard School is a Sandwell Special School that caters for pupils with complex and profound learning difficulties. These include severe autism, complex medical conditions, physical and mobility difficulties, as well as severe development delay. There are currently 173 pupils on roll, and our children range from 4 – 11 years.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for The Orchard School to recruit a receptionist. We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic and motivated person with experience to assist the Administration Team dealing with reception duties within the school.

Their responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting pupils, parents and visitors to the school.
  • Issuing and maintaining electronic badges for all staff and visitors and updating SCR
  • Use of software packages relevant to the post, i.e. SIMS, My Concern
  • Updating pupil information
  • General administrative duties to support the Administration Team, to include reprographics, filing and assistance with CPD and recruitment packs
  • Distribution and despatching of mail.

The post holder will have experience in:

  • Working in a busy school office environment
  • SIMS/Word/Microsoft/Outlook software packages desirable

The applicant will need to possess:

High standards of written and spoken English

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for the role.
